Craig S. Jones, Owner, Director of Tennis, USPTA, PTR, USTA High Performance Coach

Craig S. Jones oversees all aspects of the PRC instructional program, in addition to the Pool operations, tennis pro training, and sponsorships.  He is a P-1 Professional with the USPTA, Professional status with PTR and a certified USTA High Performance Coach. Craig is also a member of the Wilson Premiere Advisory Staff. In addition, he is part of the Wilson Speaker's Bureau, serving as their Quick Start Specialist.

Craig is committed to the game of tennis, which is evident by his long record of volunteerism – USTA Schools Program Director, CSRA JTL league coordinator, CSRA Special Olympics coordinator, CSRA Pro’s Association president, member of South Carolina and Georgia Tennis Association junior tennis councils, and member of USTA Georgia Board of Directors.

Throughout his teaching career, Craig has achieved numerous awards and distinctions:

  • 1989 South Carolina Tennis Association Pro of the Year
  • 1995 winner of the “Presidents Award” in South Carolina
  • 2004 and 2007 Georgia Tennis Association Pro of the Year
  • 2007 Southern Tennis Association Pro of the Year
  • 2007 USTA/USPTA Community Service Award
  • 2007 Racquet Sports Industry “Junior Development Champion of the Year”
  • Coach for Southern 16s Intersectional Team 1998 and 1999.  Won National Championship both years.
  • Junior Federation Cup Coach for SC. 1991-1993
  • USTA 14s Zonals Coach, 1991
  • Coached hundreds of State, Sectional, and Nationally Ranked juniors who have won titles at all three levels
  • Juniors have won Sportsmanship Awards at State, Sectional, and National Championships.  Summer 1995 - junior students won three of the eight Sportsmanship Awards at the Southern Closed.
  • For eight out of ten years in South Carolina, had a student win the “Most Improved Junior” award
  • Tournament Director, Junior Spring Fling, part of the USTA National Jr. Schedule and considered to be the number one weekend tournament in America for juniors
    • 1988 “Junior Tournament of the Year” in SC
    • 2001 “Junior Tournament of the Year” in Georgia

Mark Rearden, Owner, General Manager, USPTA, PTR

Mark Rearden joined PRC in June 2005, after spending the last 21 years as Director of Tennis at West Lake Country Club. He is a P-1 Professional with the USPTA and Professional status with PTR. Mark brings over 30 years of teaching experience to the club. Throughout his career, he has been involved with almost every aspect of the tennis business, including:
  • Past President of the CSRA Pro's Association
  • Head coach for USTA Georgia's area training centers
  • Certified Referee
  • NTRP Verifier
  • Tournament Director for the West Lake Professional Men's satellite tournament, West Lake Classic adult tournament and Junior Satellite event
  • Volunteer for CSRA adult beginner lessons, Junior Tennis League, Special Olympics, Junior Satellite Circuit, Schools Program, and many other programs

Vu Nguyen, Head Professional, USPTA

Vu Nguyen is from Augusta and previously taught at Windmill Plantation and Spring Lakes, while finishing his undergraduate degree at Augusta State. Prior to that, Vu attended UGA for three years and taught at the Bulldog Tennis Camp, in addition to Bishop Park. Vu is a P-1 Professional with the USPTA and was also chosen to be an USTA National Quick Start Trainer for Recreational Coaches. Vu will be in charge of all adult and junior beginner-intermediate instruction.

Lisa Krupp, Assistant Professional, USPTA, Cardio Director

Lisa Krupp is a P-1 Professional with the USPTA and a certified Cardio Tennis Specialist.  Her background in athletics is diverse and impressive.  In high school, she played field hockey, softball, basketball and volleyball.  She went on to play both field hockey and softball at Brockport State University in New York. 

She holds a nursing degree from the University of South Carolina and a Masters Community Health from Old Dominion.  She spent 4 years in the Army (where she met her husband), serving as an x-ray technician and an additional 10 years as a recovery room nurse.  During the military, Lisa started running marathons, ½ marathons, and triathlons.  She qualified for nationals as a triathlete and finished in the top 15 in the nation. 

Because of her daughters, she started playing tennis in 2001.  She began as a 3.0 player and currently plays 4.5 level tennis.  In 2006 Lisa joined the PRC staff as a part-time instructor and soon after became a full-time assistant professional.  Lisa is in charge of the PRC Cardio Program, teaches group and private adult and junior lessons, and helps with our Futures program for juniors.

Mike VandenabeeleMike Vandenabeele, Academy Professional, PTR

Mike comes to PRC from Augusta State University where he served as the Graduate Assistant coach. He graduated from ASU in 2005 with a degree in Business Management and plans to finish his MBA this spring. He played all 4 years at ASU and taught in the summers at Weston Athletic Club and Weston Hills Country Club in Weston, FL. Mike is also a PTR Professional. He will be running the Academy II program and help with all aspects of the Junior Academy. He is in charge of all stringing and racket customization. In addition to working with the juniors, he will be assisting with our adult program.

photo of Max Max Jones, PRC Mascot

Max Jones is a basset hound who was adopted by the Jones family as a young pup. Max serves on the club's welcome committee and can usually be found laying on the couch greeting members as they enter the clubhouse or digging through members' bags in search of goodies.
